About US SRFS Contact Information: The Snake River Field Station, formerly known as the Raptor Research and Technical Assistance Center, was established in 1990 by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and became affiliated with the United States Geological Survey-Biological Resources Division (USGS-BRD) Forest and Rangeland Ecosystem Science Center in 1996. The station has strong cooperative ties with Boise State University, the field station's host institution, and with six other agencies and institutions: the BLM, Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service-Boise Office, and the Peregrine Fund, Inc. The Snake River Field Station is located at 970 Lusk Street on the campus of Boise State University and currently houses about 40 people. Personnel stationed there include federal research staff, Boise State University Raptor Research Center staff and cooperator personnel, and students in the Raptor Biology and the General Biology Graduate Programs. Facilities include two dry labs, a geographical information system (GIS) laboratory, and the Richard Olendorff Memorial Library. The library contains over 38,000 holdings on the subjects of raptor ecology, biology, and related topics. Storage facilities for field equipment are located off-site.
