Conservation Genetics Lab

Our mission is to provide scientific understanding of genetic characteristics of wildlife in order to support management and conservation of endangered, threatened, and at-risk species. Using wildlife genetic evidence, we identify individual organisms, species, and populations, and document their variation.

Wildlife managers often use our unbiased information to maintain or restore species or populations, especially those that are rare in number or at risk.
