The data were collected to define population structure, population status, microsatellites, and subspecies of Spotted Owls.
Methods used in this study include DNA extraction, PCR, fragment analysis, tests for recent population bottlenecks, and Bayesian tests.
Reference:
Data sets were verified before samples were selected for use in the study.
Only unrelated individuals were used from each population, i.e. only one individual was taken from each family group.
Standard laboratory controls were incorporated into the procedure to verify all results.
